– Filmmaking & Digital Storytelling for Active Citizenship and Cultural Engagement»
Η Παιδαγωγική Ομάδα της ΔΠΕ Ημαθίας οργάνωσε την πρώτη από τις δύο συνολικά κινητικότητες στο πλαίσιο του σχεδίου Erasmus+ «Filmmaking & Digital Storytelling for Active Citizenship and Cultural Engagement» (2026-1-EL01-KA122-SCH-000409140).

Cultural Engagement”
The Pedagogical Team of the Directorate of Primary Education of Imathia organised the first of the two mobility activities planned within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Filmmaking & Digital Storytelling for Active Citizenship and Cultural Engagement” (2026-1-EL01-KA122-SCH-000409140).
Specifically, three members of the Pedagogical Team, Ms Eleni Ziori, Head of Educational Affairs, Mr Nikolaos Pomakis, Education Consultant, and Ms Lefkothea Karasavva, Primary Education Teacher (PE60), travelled to Florence from 12 to 17 October 2026, where they attended a structured training programme organised by Europass Teacher Academy entitled “Everyday Heritage: Activities and Tools for Active Citizenship”.
The main objective of the training was to explore, through experiential learning, how everyday and local cultural heritage can be utilised as a dynamic educational tool for fostering active citizenship.
Furthermore, the programme aimed to strengthen the European dimension of education and the international outreach of the Directorate of Primary Education of Imathia, as well as to promote European values.
Through experiential and collaborative activities, the participants enhanced their pedagogical and digital skills, explored innovative approaches to learning beyond the classroom in a collaborative setting, and exchanged good practices with educators from Cyprus, Germany, Croatia and Poland.
Participation in a European educational environment provided opportunities to use English in professional and educational contexts, while also fostering intercultural cooperation, respect for diversity and peaceful coexistence.
The overarching aim of the project is to highlight and promote innovative learning approaches that can be adapted to the needs of schools under the Directorate of Primary Education of Imathia.
The experience in Florence reinforces the commitment of the Directorate of Primary Education of Imathia to making the most of professional development opportunities for educators, with the aim of transferring the knowledge acquired into classroom practice and fostering an inclusive and creative school environment that is open to Europe and promotes culture, dialogue and mutual respect.
